CREATIVE AI CHALLENGE

Creative AI Challenge, is a competition that encourages participants to create original designs, short stories, and musical compositions using AI technologies and promotes interdisciplinary thinking. With collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence, it aims to explore new forms and possibilities in these areas, thus fostering a richer creative culture.

Creative AI Challenge;

Evaluates submissions in the categories of Short Story, Design, and Music, taking into account the given themes.

SHORT STORY
Theme: Human- Machine Relationship

In the human-machine (artificial intelligence) relationship, while dystopian approaches may be the focus, it’s also possible to explore how machines can enhance the qualities that make humans human. All approaches are free in handling the theme.

The length of the story should not exceed 1000 words.

DESIGN
Theme: Love

The theme of the design, “love,” can be directed towards deep affection between two individuals or towards humanity’s connection to the world, ideals, goals, or self. The content of the design can be figurative or abstract. All approaches are free in handling the theme.

MUSIC
Theme: Nature

The theme of the musical compositions should be “nature.” Perspectives such as environment, climate, and human-nature relationship are preferred. All approaches are free in handling the theme.

Compositions should not exceed 3 minutes and should include lyrics. The lyrics should be synthetically rendered and should not use human voice. Compositions can be produced in any genre.

The competition is open to everyone, and participation is free of charge.

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

APPLICATION and EVALUATION CRITERIA

In the application process of the Creative AI Challenge, all deep learning and machine learning technologies, including natural language processing and composition applications such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Midjourney, and Dall-e 2/Dall-e 3, can be utilized. It is mandatory to explain the datasets used in the application process, and it must be demonstrated that they were created entirely using artificial intelligence.

An individual can apply to multiple categories. Separate applications must be made for each category.

Who Can Participate

The Creative AI Challenge is open to anyone active or interested in the fields of film, creative content production, and brand communication.

Originality

Text/audio/visual submissions to the Creative AI Challenge must not have been published anywhere before.

Evaluation Methodology

All entries submitted to the competition undergo preliminary evaluation by the jury. Over the course of one week, the jury evaluates all submissions digitally based on predetermined criteria and assigns scores. Works that meet these criteria are shortlisted. Subsequently, jury members convene to evaluate the shortlisted works.

Projects will be evaluated in the jury meeting through a two-stage voting system:

Stage 1: The jury will assign scores out of one hundred (100) to the shortlisted works based on each criterion. The weighted scores for each criterion will be considered. Works with a total weighted score of over 60 will become finalists.

Stage 2: Finalists will be re-evaluated by the jury, and the project with the highest score will be awarded the first prize. Electronic voting will also take place during these stages.

In the submissions:

Innovation and originality (40%)

Concept development and implementation (30%)

Technology usage (30%) criteria will be taken into account during evaluation.

Application Materials

For the short story category, the story text should be prepared in Turkish, in Word or PDF format, and should not exceed 1000 words.

For the design category, the image should be in 16:9 JPEG format, with dimensions ranging from a minimum of 1920X1080 to a maximum of 2560X1440. The file size should not exceed 5 MB.

For the music category, the audio file should be in MP3 format and no longer than three (3) minutes. The file size should not exceed 5 MB.

A PDF or Word document explaining the technologies and datasets used in the application process must also be included in the application.

All submission materials should be uploaded to a link using platforms such as WeTransfer, SendGB, Yandex Disk, Google Drive, and similar services, and the link should be added to the relevant field in the application form. For encrypted links, the password must be provided in the appropriate field of the application form.

All submission materials will be used by Kapital Media Services Inc. in addition to jury evaluation meetings and award ceremonies; they will also be used in MediaCat Magazine, website, social media accounts, Digital Age website, social media accounts, and similar Kapital Media platforms after the competition.
