Hi, I’m Vlad. I live in Lausanne and I love life, food, art and technology.
Currently, I’m leading the Swisscom Digital Lab at EPFL. Previously, I was co-founder and chief of product officer at EVRYTHNG, a startup that makes products smart. In previous lives, I built acoustic sensor systems to help biologists study bird communication in the forests of Mexico and California; neural models of sensory-motor coordination for humanoid robots in Japan; or urban computing platforms to collect and analyze massive amounts of real-time data in Singapore. My forté is making interactive physical objects that connect to the Web and I learned my trade as an engineer and researcher at MIT, UCLA, SAP and EPFL. I graduated with a PhD in computer science from ETH Zurich, but no need to call me “doc”.
